The ArtsBuild Equity Grants for Individual Artists grant program strives to provide more equitable grant funding to increase arts and culture produced by diverse artists who are reflective of our community. Each round of grants since 2021 has prioritized a new identity group: Black or African American (2021); Hispanic/Latino(a)(x) (2022); Asian, Pacific Islander, and/or Native American (2023); and BIPOC Female (2024).
Currently, funding is available for artists living with disabilities. Disability as you experience it may include, but is not limited to cognitive, learning, and development disabilities; emotional or mental health disabilities; and/or physical disabilities. We acknowledge
disability justice and encourage artists who are part of historically excluded groups, such as women, people of color, immigrants, and people who identify as LGBTQ+, to apply for this funding.
[We thank Arts Midwest for the courtesy of using language curated by their organization.]
Funding for this grant program has been graciously provided by the Benwood Foundation and the Lyndhurst Foundation + individual donors.
